Artwork by James H. Thorpe (1876 - 1949).
Complete Great Western Railway vintage wooden jigsaw puzzle with its original box. Inscribed: GWR Jig-saw Puzzle ABOUT 200 PIECES. Manufactured from 1927 to 1936 by Chad Valley Co., Ltd. Features the Great Western Locomotive 4083 Abbotsbury Castle, built in May 1925. About 45 jigsaw puzzle designs were produced for GWR between 1924 and 1939. The puzzles were cut by hand, which explains the approximate number of pieces stated in each box.
